I have been working in Nelson as a GP for about 8 years now. I love working in Nelson City Medical Center because we are a small friendly team, who work together to provide excellent care for our patients. Before I was a GP I spent about 10 years working in hospital general medicine, cancer medicine and palliative care. I have always had a special interest in how our thoughts and feelings influence our health and have done some extra training in counselling. Please ask me if you would like to know more about this. I believe good health can be found by care for all aspects of ourselves, diet and nutrition, exercise, mental health and good medical care.
I was born in Northern Ireland and studied medicine at Cambridge University. I worked in England, before moving to New Zealand 15 years ago.
I have a Kiwi husband and 2 adventurous Kiwi kids! In my spare time, I love to mountain bike, ski and tramp. I also aim for a regular yoga and meditation practice.
